Bone loss and gum recession can happen for various reasons but the good news is there is a solution to correct both issues! Bone grafts can replace where the bone has lost volume after tooth loss or due to periodontal disease or trauma. I addition, gum grafts can replace where recession has taken place or inadequate soft tissue exists due to previous extraction or trauma. The materials used are called Allografts because they come from a donor that has been extensively tested for sterility and safety from the tissue bank that supplies the graft material. Their processing follows strict guidelines set by the American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB) and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
